Workshop on Self Employment by the Commission for Social Welfare and Development, Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail

 A training workshop on Self-employment was organised on August 17, 2023 at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, under the leadership of the Commission of Social Welfare and development. The programme began with registration at 9:00 AM at the Church Banquet Hall, followed by refreshments. The stage programme started on the arrival of the honourable Chief Guest, Mrs. Rekhalatha, EC member of District Small Industries Association, Mangalore (DSIAM) and past President of Yuvavahini Mahila Ghataka, Mangalore, and Mrs. Shanthi Bhandari, EC member of DSIAM. The Associate Priest Rev. Fr. Kevin D'Souza, the Vice President Mrs. Sheela D’Souza, the Coordinator of the 21 Commissions Mr. Anil Patrao along with Convenor of the Social Welfare Commission, Mrs. Veena Pinto participated in the inaugural programme.   
Mrs. Geetha Nazareth welcomed the guests and the gathering, and Mrs. Veena Pinto welcomed the honourable Chief Guest and the rest of the guests with flowers. The Chief Guest presided over the programme and delivered a brief speech on the necessity of self-employment in our day-to-day lives. Rev. Fr. Kevin D’Souza blessed the occasion. Mrs. Felcy Fernandez compeered the program. 
Training was given on candle making, phenyl making, and soap oil making. There were 100 participants. At the end of the programme, Mrs. Reema Pinto delivered the vote of thanks to all for making the programme a grand success, and Mrs. Sheela D’Souza offered a plant pot as a token of appreciation to the guests. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis joined the program towards the end and gave his blessings. The programme was highly appreciated by all the participants. It was practical, useful, and creative.
