Easter Vigil Mass Illuminates Most Holy Redeemer Church with Spiritual Renewal and Hope

On March 30th, 2024, at 7 PM, Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail hosted a vibrant Easter Vigil Mass, drawing a large attendance of parishioners. Led by the main celebrant, Rev. Fr. Maxim Rosario, alongside Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis and Rev. Fr. Kevin D'Souza, the ceremony commenced with the Blessing of the Paschal Candle, symbolizing the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Service of the Light, held outdoors, featured the lighting of candles from the Paschal Candle, marking the triumph of light over darkness. During the mass, the choir joyously sang "Gloria," marking the end of the Lenten season.

In his Homily, Fr. Maxim emphasized key themes of fire, light, and water, echoing Jesus' teachings on life, death, and eternal life. He underscored Jesus' miraculous healing abilities, reinforcing belief in his resurrection. The empty tomb, witnessed by Mary Magdalene on the third day, symbolized the pivotal moment of resurrection. Additionally, Jesus' appearances to his disciples post-death and the transformative impact of the Holy Spirit strengthened their conviction of his resurrection. The term "alleluia," signifying rejoicing, captures the Easter celebration, marking the triumph of life over death.

Following the Liturgy of the Word, the Baptismal font water was blessed, and the faithful renewed their Baptismal vows, experiencing a profound spiritual connection. Consecrated water was then sprinkled over the congregation, symbolizing purification and renewal. Prayers of the Faithful were offered, followed by the Liturgy of the Eucharist, deepening the spiritual communion of the parishioners.

The mass also included a heartfelt acknowledgment of parishioners who contributed, honoring them with candles. Volunteers graciously distributed refreshments, fostering fellowship and community spirit among the attendees.
