Blossom: Children of Tommorow

The Youth CLC Derebail, along with the Youth Commission Derebail, hosted a lively two-day camp "Blossom" for kids from classes IV to X, on 9th and 11April,2024, at the Derebail Church Meeting hall.

The camp started off with the inauguration ceremony where the Vice President of PPP Mrs. Sheela D'Souza, Secretary of PPP Denzil Pinto, Rev. Fr. Walter Mendonca SVD, Reon President of YCLC, YCLC animator Gerald Concessao, and the Event Coordinator Cherish Pinto lit the lamp.

Fun icebreaker activities helped everyone get to know each other. Ms.Olinda Fernandes gave a talk about finding oneself. She encouraged the kids to learn more about who they are. Singing and quizzes added to the excitement. The first day ended with games that brought everyone together.

The second day had more fun activities, with talks about Love and Attraction and the Eucharist by Mr. Chris Crasta, Mr. Jeswin and Ms.Lavisha Castelino. The kids got to express themselves through collages and cool off with water games. 

The camp ended with a Valedictory Ceremony where Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis appreciated the kids for joining in and participating actively. Prizes were given out to the winners by Fr. Joseph Martis and Mr. Ullas D’Costa Animator of YCLC. The camp was very well coordinated and executed by the event coordinators Mr. Rishon Mascarenhas and Mr. Cherish Pinto.

Delicious meals and snacks  kept everyone fueled up throughout the camp. With 75 happy campers, "Blossom" was a hit, leaving smiles on everyone's faces.

In addition, the members expressed gratitude to the generous sponsors whose support played a crucial role in the successful execution of this event. The volunteers and the YCLC members were also appreciated for their hardwork that contributed to the success of the event. The joint effort of all these members ensured an enriching and memorable experience for all participants.
