Sangatha - 2015 Back

Youth get together SANGATHA 2015 at Derebail parish organized by YSD & YCS.

 

The much awaited youth get together programme “SANGATHA 2015” was jointly organized by Yuva Spandan Derebail (YSD) and Young Catholic Students (YCS) on September 27th 2015.

The programme started at 9.00 am with the registration and breakfast. The programme was inaugurated by the Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr Anil Lobo, Vice President Anil Patrao, Ysd Animator Mrs. Lizzy Fernandes, Ycs Animator Mrs. Loretta Anthony and YSD president Mr. Sheldon Alvares. Ms. Denora led the youth into divine mood of prayer with a prayer song.

Mr. Anil Patrao in his inaugural speech called the youth to give importance to our mother tongue Konkani and to enrich it with our talents. Parish priest Rev. Fr.Joseph Lobo addressed the youth to take part in all the church activities and to serve the church with their immense effort and support. He quoted “youth are the pillar of the church”.

In the ice breaking session the youth were asked to introduce themselves to each other. The youth were divided into 8 groups (A, B, C, D, E, F, G & H) and the recreational session began with an action song sung by YSD/YCS. The youth were judged based on their performance. Next the spot games began with a lot of enthusiasm by the youth.

Mr. Eugene D’cunha the guest for the day enlightened the youth with his talk on “Friendship & Love” he conveyed the message to the youth Know who you are and focus on your goal. At 12.00 pm Rev Fr. Anil Lobo conducted mass in which liturgy and choir was handled by Maizy and team.

The afternoon session started at 2.00 pm which was organized by the members of ICYM City Varado Team who also conducted some spot games. The youth actively participated in the entire programme. Each group was judged based on their performance. Over all it was a wonderful session where the youth interacted very well.

At the end of the session feedback was collected and prizes were distributed by YCS Animator Mr. Michael, to the winners. YSD president Sheldon Alvares delivered the vote of thanks.

The curtains were drawn with a baila number where the youth whole heartedly danced and were left with panting breath.

A total of 120 youth of Derebail parish were present during the program.
