Inauguration of Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Back

The parish of The Most Holy Redeemer will be completing 75 years this April 2014.  The inauguration of this jubilee year began on Easter Sunday on 30th March 20113. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Rector of St. Joseph Seminary celebrated the Eucharist along with the Parish and Asst. Parish priest. He spoke about how this parish grew and the developments that have take place over the years.  He said that the healthy relationship between the priests and the parishioners have led to the growth and prosperity of the parish.

After the mass, the Logo of the Platinum Jubilee was launched.  This Logo will be displayed throughout the celebration. The stickers of the Logo were distributed to be displayed in    our homes and vehicles during the year

The logo has  our patron The most Holy Redeemer in the centre, while the old and the present church building  on either side signifies the unity and efforts of the parishioners  with the mission statement “Let’s celebrate the Platinum Jubilee- Lets build the parish community”.

Daydel D’souza and Edrina Sequeira were the ones who coined the mission statement.

A number of programmers have been planned to be organized round the year. First and foremost amongst which are the CROSSES that would be taken to each home in the ward round the year. The crosses were blessed and handed over to the Gurkars of the 22 wards who received them with great reverence.  This is done with an aim to foster a spirit of prayer, brotherhood and healthy relationship in the wards.

In aid of the jubilee year fund raising plan donation certificates of Rs. 5,000/-, Rs.  2,000/- and Rs. 1,000/- were blessed and released. The parishioners came forward with all enthusiasm to support and buy the donation certificates.

The Eucharistic celebration took place on the school grounds which accommodated a large gathering.
