Annual Retreat 2024 Back

Annual Retreat 2024

The main goal of a retreat is to purify oneself and blossom in Christ's love. Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail hosted a three-day retreat from March 11–13, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The retreat was led by Rev. Fr. Pius Dsouza, the Shimoga Diocese's Youth Director, who also provided the parishioners with spiritual guidance.

Every day of the retreat had a distinct topic that aided in enhancing the spiritual energy within to lead a dedicated Christian life.
The first day was dedicated to giving thanks. Exodus 34:6-7 and 1 John 4:7 provide the answer to the question on the second day, which was, "Who is God?". On the third day, we discussed how to pray. According to him, the Eucharist is the ideal form of prayer. We must worship and praise God every day of our lives, according to Fr. Pius.

Holy adoration followed the daily celebration of Eucharistic mass. There were special prayers for the youth, couples, and children on the final day of the retreat.

The retreat was made more solemn by the Choir, which was directed by Mr. Anil Patrao. All those who participated in the retreat were thanked by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis.

The parishioners' spiritual renewal was greatly aided by the retreat.
