Parapade Hills Ward Celebrated Elders’ Day, Teachers’ Day and Nurses’ Day

The Parapade Hills Ward celebrated Elders’ Day, Teachers’ Day, and Nurses’ Day on 9th September 2025. The celebration began with a ward meeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a special program. A total of 80 including invited guests, attended the occasion.

The program was graced by Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Associate Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Kevin Dsouza, Former Associate Parish Priest of Derebail and present Director of Kripa Sadhana, Bajpe; Mrs. Sheela Dsouza, PPC Vice-President; Mr. Denzil Pinto, Secretary; Mr. Anil Patrao, Coordinator of 21 Commissions; Sr. Juliana Tellis, Superior of St. Ann’s Convent, along with the community of Sisters.

The evening began with a prayer led by the ward members. This was followed by a welcome address by Mr. Denzil Fernandes, the Ward Gurkar. The ward group dedicated a melodious song to the elderly, setting the tone for the celebration. Tokens of remembrance were presented to the elders, teachers, and nurses of the ward as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation.

A lively cultural program followed, fan action song and dance performances by both elders and children of the ward. Games for the elders and teachers were conducted by Mrs. Reema Pinto, adding joy and liveliness to the event.Fr. Nelson and Fr. Kevin shared their reflections on the significance of the day. Mrs. Leena Fernandes spoke on behalf of the elders, while Ms. Jeanna Pereira shared her thoughts on the importance of honoring them.

The Parish Priest, Fr. Joseph, addressed the gathering with encouraging words, after which the program concluded with a fellowship dinner. Ms. Primal Furtado proposed the vote of thanks, and Mrs. Pramila Furtado compered the event.
