Father’s Day Celebration – Kottara Ward

Kottara Ward members celebrated Father’s Day as part of their monthly Small Christian Community ward meeting on 21st June 2026.

The meeting was held at the residence of Mr. Michael and Mrs. Monthi Andrade at 4:30 pm. It was attended by 17 Men, 20 Women and 12 youth & children.

Mrs. Monthi Andrade welcomed the gathering. The children of the ward took initiative and led the 7 steps of the meeting. Primal Lobo served as MC, and Gloria Andrade led the Seven Steps of Prayer. The word of God was read from the Gospel of St. John, Chapter 6, verses 51 to 58 by Lawrence Andrade and Pearl Lobo. 'He abides in me' was the verse selected for the month. The ward members celebrating birthdays and anniversaries were wished and prayed for. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Jane Castelino. 

As part of the Father’s Day celebration, a cake was cut to honor all fathers. Each father was presented with a prayer to St.Joseph as well as a token of remembrance as a mark of love and appreciation from the ward.

A special presentation featuring fathers with their children was published to the ward members on this occasion. The ward also announced the release of a video series with children sharing heartfelt messages of gratitude for their dads which will run through the month. The meeting ended with a hymn and refreshments served by the hosts.
