Christmas Celebration by Kapikad Ward

The Kapikad ward of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, celebrated Christmas on Sunday 14th December 2025 at 4.30PM during the meeting held at the residence Mrs Winnie Rego.

The Ward meeting began with a welcome by Mrs. Winnie Rego, followed by  Seven-steps process lead by Mr. Edward Coelho. The Secretary, Mr. Sylvester Dcunha read the minutes of the previous meeting. The Gurkar together with the  ward members, extended birthday, and Wedding anniversary wishes to all Members whose special days are in December.

After the ward meeting the Christmas celebration began. The ward Gurkar Mrs.Juliana Coelho welcomed the Chief Guest Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis, Parish Priest  and  all the Members present. After the event of live Crib the Chief Guest addressed the gathering andshared heartfelt Christmas wishes along with a few inspiring stories and anecdotes. Rev. Fr. Joseph also blessed the members of the ward and the kuswar prepared by them. The Chief Guest honoured Ms. Prathima Mascarenhas for her leadership in training the participants for all the events. The Chief Guest also presented Christmas goodies, sponsored by Mr. Manuel and Mrs. Leena Monis to the children of the ward.

The festive mood was further enriched by live crib, Christmas Carols, and dance by children and adults. A memory game conducted by Edward Coelho actively added joy and  encouraged participation.

Mrs. Patricia Mendonca read out the list of kuswar prepared and contributed by members. The Christmas theme backdrop, decorations and the Christmas tree was set-up by the Ward Members. Delicacies-Kuswar- prepared by the members, was relished by the gathering. Truly, the onset of the festive season with the celebration of Christmas by the Kapikad Ward  elevated everyone's hearts to extend a warm welcome to Jesus, this Christmas. Mr. Francis Saldanha rendered a Vote of thanks. Around 18 Christmas delicacies-kuswar prepared by the ward members, was relished by the gathering.
