Parish Pastoral Parishad elects its new Office Bearers

The new Parish Pastoral Parishad (PPP) of Derebail Church held its first meeting on 11 December 2022 to elect its office bearers for the three year term 2023-25.

At the commencement of this meeting Parish Priest Fr Joseph Martis invoked the Holy Spirit in prayer to guide the members to elect the most suitable persons as the office bearers.  He welcomed the members of the new PPP for this first meeting.  Fr Gerald Pinto read out the guidelines relating to the election.  Of the 102 members of PPP 93 members had attended the meeting and cast their votes in secret ballot.  The results of the election is thus:

Vice-President: Mrs Sheela D’Souza

Secretary: Mr Denzil Pinto

Finance committee (elected members): 

Mr Michael D’Silva

Mrs Lizzie Fernandes

Mr Valerian Mascarenhas

21 Commissions Coordinator: 

Mr Edward Coelho

Parish Priest congratulated all the newly elected office bearers and expressed his satisfaction with the smooth manner in which the election was held.  He reminded the members of PPP that as we belong to one Body of Christ through this Parish, we must support each other and work hand in hand for the common good of the congregation.
