Maundy Thursday marks the beginning of the three day celebration of Easter. It commemorates the Last supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples. Jesus also washed the feet of his followers and commanded them to love each other. The Maundy Thursday celebration at The Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail were concelebrated by the Rev.Fr Austin Peres, Rev Fr.Gracian Alvares, Rev.Fr Anthony Pais and Rev. Fr Walter Pinto. Fr Anthony Pais in his homily elaborated the significance of the day and also reminded the parishoners about the institution of the sacrament of Priesthood.The mass stressed the importance Jesus put on the humility of service. The mass also emphasized the importance of Eucharist and its symbolic gesture of sacrifice of Jesus's body. At the conclusion of the mass the faithful were invited to continue the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The members of the Senior Choir added to the solemnity of the service through their singing.
