CHOWKI WARD NATIVITY CELEBRATION 2023

The celebration of Nativity at Chowki Ward was a heartwarming and memorable occasion. Following their private observance of Nativity with their respective families on September 8, 2023, the members of Chowki Ward came together on September 10, 2023, to mark this cherished event.

The gathering commenced at the hospitable residence of Ms. Joyce and Mr. Kishore Cutinha at 6:30 P.M., where they warmly hosted the celebration. Ms. Anjeline Pinto extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting the tone for the evening.

During the meeting, the ward members paid their heartfelt respects to the infant Mary's statue, gracing it with fragrant flowers as a symbol of their devotion.

Subsequently, the blessed corn was added to the delectable payasam thoughtfully prepared by Ms. Joyce Cutinha. This sweet delight was shared with joy and enthusiasm among all the ward members.

Mr. Ronald Rodrigues led a moment of prayer, creating an atmosphere of serenity. The homily was delivered by Fr. Kevin D'Souza, while Fr. Joseph Martis blessed the new corn. In a show of solidarity, the Sisters from St Ann's Convent, two brothers from Jeppu Seminary, and the Church Vice President and Secretary joined the occasion.

Ms. Mariet Alvares expressed her profound gratitude to all those who graced the event with their presence, acknowledging the sense of community that made the celebration special.

During the event, three dedicated teachers from the ward were honoured for their invaluable contributions to society.

Mr. Canute skillfully conducted an engaging game of Housie Housie, which everyone actively participated in.

The ward members showcased their culinary talents by preparing special vegetarian dishes that left everyone's taste buds delighted.

This joyous gathering brought together more than 20 members, including 11 males, 28 females, and 15 children, reaffirming the unity and warmth of the Chowki Ward family in celebrating the Nativity feast.
