Young Couples Conference Back

GOD’S KNOT: YOUNG COUPLES CONFERENCE

GOD'S KNOT a conference for Young Couples was jointly organised by the Derebail Parish Family Commission and Women's Commission in association with Family Life Centre, Mangalore Diocese on 31 August 2022. 

Prior to the commencement of the programme, breakfast was served at 9 AM. Couples married for a period between a year to 20 years were invited for the conference. 

The programme began with a short prayer led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest, Most Holy Redeemer church, Derebail. Mrs. Mercy Menezes, President Stree Sangatan and Commission for Women welcomed all the dignitaries, resource persons and the invitees of the programme. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Fr. Gerald Pinto, Mrs Sheela D’Souza Vice President, Parish Council, Mr.Gaulbert Pais, Secretary, Parish council, Mr. Edward Coelho, Co-ordinator of 21 Commissions, Mr. Cyprian D’souza, Convenor of Family Commission, Sr. Bernice Superior, St. Ann’s Convent,Mrs. Lydia D’costa, Secretary Lion’s Club, Ladyhill were present on the dais.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis inaugurated the event with a Bible reflection and renewal of the nuptial vows in a song form. He elaborated on the message Mark 10:9 "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
 Mrs. Felcy Lobo introduced the resource persons Mr. Melwyn and Mrs Neetha Fernandes, Dr. Elvis and Gladys Rodrigues. The Resource Persons were from Missionary Families of Christ.

The first talk was by Dr. Elvis on the  role of a husband in marriage/family . The session started with an action song, followed by a short break.The sponsors for the event were felicitated by Mrs. Mercy Menezes during this break. Mrs.Pramila Furtado, Treasurer, Stree Sangatan read out the names of the sponsors.

The second talk was by Mrs. Gladys Rodrigues on the role of a wife in marriage/family. The sessions were interactive with power point presentation. After a short break the third session started with an action song.
Mr. Melwyn and Mrs. Neetha Fernandes spoke on responsibilities shared by husband and wife. 
At the end of the session feedback forms were given.

Also, the Missionary Families of Christ, Youth and Singles had a separate session for the children of the participants.

The programme was compered by Mrs.Dora Dcunha, Secretary, Family Commission. The Vote of thanks was rendered by Mr. Cyprian D’Souza, Convenor, Family Commission.
The programme was concluded with Rev.Fr. Gerald Pinto blessing the gathering and on the food.
