"World Mission Sunday 2023: "Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move"

In the spirit of Pope Francis's message for World Mission Sunday 2023, the devoted parishioners of the Most Holy Redeemer Church in Derebail came together with passionate hearts and unwavering dedication to create a truly remarkable celebration. The theme "Hearts on fire, feet on the move" served as the guiding light for their collective efforts.
The Mission Sunday celebration was held on the 21st and 22nd of October, 2023.

On the 21st of October, Saturday, the day commenced with a deeply moving Eucharistic celebration at 5:00 PM. Following this spiritual start, an auction took place, adding an exciting and charitable twist to the day's events. The atmosphere was vibrant with various food and beverage stalls, thoughtfully organised by the enthusiastic youth, devoted ward members, and dedicated members of different associations. It was a beautiful fusion of faith, community, and shared purpose.
The heart of the celebration continued to beat strongly on the 22nd of October,  Sunday. The Holy Eucharistic Celebrations took place at 5:30 AM, 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and 11:30 AM.
The charitable spirit remained as the auction followed the morning masses, allowing parishioners to contribute to the mission's noble cause. Throughout the day, food and beverages counters were made accessible to all, reinforcing the sense of unity and celebration. Mrs. Dorothy of Kadjahithlu ward with ticket number 243 (Gurkar Mr.Rakesh Dcunha) won the cock in the Lucky Draw sponsored by Gollachil Ward.
A heartfelt thanks must be extended to the dedicated individuals and groups who made this Mission Sunday 2023 an outstanding success. Reverend Father Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest, and Reverend Father Kevin D'souza, the Assistant Parish Priest were the backbone of the Mission Sunday celebration, offering their unwavering support and guidance to the parishioners. The Parish Pastoral Parishad Members, the Parish Association Members, Ward members and the Youth Volunteers from various associations demonstrated exceptional commitment and hard work.
Together, the parishioners of the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, have proven that when hearts are on fire and feet are on the move, remarkable achievements can be accomplished in the service of faith and community. This Mission Sunday will undoubtedly be remembered as a grand success, filled with love, charity, and unwavering dedication.
