Parishioners Felicitate Outgoing Parish Priest Rev.Fr.Austin Peter Peres and Show Gratitude

Rev.Fr.Austin Peter Peres, in the last six years of his service at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail has won the hearts of all parishioners. This was clearly evident on 15 May,2022, when parishioners took part in great numbers in the Eucharistic Celebration at 7AM.

A short farewell ceremony was then conducted. Mrs. Sheela D'souza, Vice President PPP read out the Maan Pathr (Felicitation Note) and  presented the same to the Parish Priest.

The Maan Pathr recollected the key role that Fr.Austin played in improvising the church and also increasing the devotion among parishioners. From taking up the responsibility of renovating the hall to starting of English Mass on Sundays, installation of TVs for projection of hymns, making the parish website a key tool in connecting the parishioners, starting of Women's Association and Senior Citizens Club to beautification of the church premise through its colourful garden, Fr.Austin has given his all to the Parish. His ability to understand the economic difficulties of the parishioners and the timely help that was extended to them during the pandemic was also acknowledged in the Maan Pathr. Although challenging, the Maan Pathr tries to put in words Fr.Austin's contribution to Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail

Resident Priest Rev.Fr.Gerald Pinto along with Mrs. Sheela D'souza and Mr.Gaulber Pais honoured the parish priest with a shawl. They also presented him with a token of their gratitude. The choir team headed by Mr. Alwyn D'cunha sang a Farewell Song.

Speaking on this occasion the Parish Priest expressed his gratitude towards all the parishioners who had shown him love and respect for the last six years. He also assured his unfailing support in the future as well. He promised to remember the parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail.

Acknowledging the love of the parishioners as the greatest gift, Fr. Austin returned the token of gratitude that was presented to him during the earlier part of the felicitation programme. He expressed his desire of this fund being put to use to provide education to the less fortunate students who are not able to educate themselves because of the lack of money. This gesture indeed made the parishioners feel overwhelmed and proud.

Mr. Gaulbert Pais was the master of ceremony for the farewell programme
