Palm Sunday: The Beginning of the Holy Week, 2022

The parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church took part with great devotion in the Eucharistic Celebration on Palm Sunday on 10th April,2022. The service began with parishioners gathered in the Holy Family School Grounds where the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr.Austin Peres read a reading and reflected on the same. The palms were then distributed and blessed. The parishioners then walked to the church in a procession, holding palms in their hands. This joyful procession is a religious parade that commemorates Jesus's triumphal entry and welcome into Jerusalem. This symbolic act of welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem is time and again an emphatic reminder that 'Christ is King.'

The Holy Mass then followed. Rev.Fr.Austin Peter Peres, Rev.Fr.Gerald Pinto and Rev.Fr. Walter Pinto concelebrated the mass.

The Palm Sunday which is also called the Passion Sunday, is the day when the Lord's passion is recollected in the Gospel Reading. The parish priest Rev.Fr. Austin Peter Peres dwelt on the theme of the day in his Homily.

The Palm Sunday which is an overture for the Holy Week, began on a solemn note with the melodious hymns sung by the parish choir.

The parishioners walked back home with palms in their hand and more love for Jesus in their hearts
