"Let the Children Come to Me": A Special Holy Hour for Children

A special Holy Hour dedicated to the children of the parish was conducted at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail on Friday, 17 November, 2023.

November month is special as it celebrates the presence of children and their role in shaping the future society. On this  note, the Parish Priest Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis along with Assistant Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Kevin D'Souza dedicated the evening of prayer for the safety, health and happiness for children all over the world.

The mass began at 5.30 PM after which Fr.Joseph invited the little children to the altar and welcomed the Holy Spirit in their midst by singing the Kannada hymn 'pavanathmane'. The children sat around the monstrance and felt the love that Jesus has for them .The lights were turned off and children were asked to  hold candles. This was followed by a small reflection of a Bible verse .

The entire Holy hour was focussed on praying for the good health and safety of the little children. The little children were more than happy to sit around the altar and listen to Words from the Bible. Fr. Joseph prayed over the children and thought of all those who couldn't make it for mass and Holy Hour and prayer over them as well.

At the end of the service ice cream was distributed to all the children.
