Catechism Classes Resume for Children at Most Holy Redeemer Church Back

Catechism Classes Resume for Children at Most Holy Redeemer Church

Sunday, the 24th of October, marked a special day in Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail as little children were welcomed back into the church after a long gap of almost two years. The Catechism classes that had shifted to the virtual mode owing to the pandemic, switched to the offline mode on the 24th of October. The presence of the children in the church premise brought back the charm that was missing for a long time.

The Catechism classes began at 8AM followed by mass at 9AM. From wearing masks to maintaining social distance , it was indeed appreciable to see and know how the children adhered to the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) norms. The celebrant, Fr. Austin Peres, delivered his sermon in the midst of the little children. The children took active part and interacted with Fr. Austin Peres during the sermon.

The discipline and devotion that the children exhibited during the entire service was indeed a sign of how the parents and parish had been successful in keeping the children connected to God despite the lockdown.

The entire liturgy was carried out by the children. The Childrens Choir added to the solemnity of the service.
