BIBLE TRIVIA

The Youth Christian Life Community in association with Commission of Bible and  Catechetics organised "BIBLE TRIVIA" a quiz competition on 03rd September, 2023.

The participating teams were asked to report at 3.30PM.

To begin with , a small prayer was led by the Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Joseph Martis. This was followed by first elimination round at 3.45 PM. 17 teams took part in the first round, "Scripture Insights Challenge" and 13 teams qualified for the second round. Refreshments were served after the first round. Following this, a second elimination round, " Testament Trailblazers" was conducted and 6 teams  qualified for the finals.

The six wards that qualified for the finals were Akashbhavan, Parapade hills, Golachill, Konchady 1st, Barebail lower and Church Ward.
The elimination rounds were conducted by Mr. Ullas D'costa.

Before the finals began, a formal inauguration was held. The Parish Priest  Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Asst. Parish Priest Rev. Fr Kevin D'Souza, Vice President Mrs. Sheela D'Souza, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Denzil Pinto, Co- Ordinator of 21 Commissions Mr. Anil Patrao, along with Youth CLC Animators Mr. Ullas D'costa, Mr. Gerald Concessao, President of Youth CLC Mr. Rovin D'Souza and programme co-ordinators Ms. Preethi Pais and Mr. Reon Rodrigues were present on the dias. Mr. Rovin D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Mr. Rishon Mascarenhas compered the event.

The Finals had 7 rounds- First round - Faithful Quiz Challenge wherein the participants were asked questions on old and new testament, Second round - Divine Revelations, where participants had to guess who Jesus said the given words to, third round - Chit of wisdom. This was selection based on round on the personality of both old and new testament, the
Fourth round - Old testament Odyssey, the questions were taken from old testament, Fifth round - New Testament Odyssey, questions based on New testament, 6th round - Graceful Challenge, this was a bonus round. The Seventh round - Faithful fury was a rapid fire round for 90 sec with 6 questions per team.

Ms. Carol D'Souza was the quiz master of the competition.

The winners of the quiz competition were awarded with cash prizes. Following are the winning teams:
 
1st prize : Golachill ward with cash prize of ₹ 2500

2nd Prize: Church ward with cash prize of ₹ 2000

3rd prize : Konchady 1st with cash prize of ₹ 1500

It was an amazing experience for the Parishioners to participate in the quiz and enhance their Biblical knowledge and thereby their faith too.
