25 Children Receive First Holy Communion at Most Holy Redeemer Church

25 children of Most Holy Redeemer Church received their First Holy Communion on 7 May, 2023 during the 9 AM mass. As preparation for this big day, the children attended Catechism classes for a couple of days prior to this event.

The entire church was filled with jubilation when communicants along with their parents and priests walked towards the altar in a procession.

In his sermon, Fr. Joseph Martis dwelt on the role of Holy Communion in the life of an individual. He narrated a story that emphasized the importance that the Eucharist must be given in our day to day lives. In addition, he urged the children to pray fervently.

The entire liturgy was conducted by the communicants. The children sang a special hymn to welcome Jesus into their lives. The Children's Choir added to the solemnity of the service.

Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis and Rev.Fr. Gerald Pinto were accompanied by several other guest priests who concelebrated the Holy Mass. The Parish Priest thanked them profusely at the end of the ceremony.

Indeed the joy that the little children felt when welcoming Jesus into their hearts was reflected on their smiling faces.

Refreshments were served after mass
