21 Commissions Coordinators Meet at Derebail Parish: Parish Priest Emphasizes the Need for the Active Participation of the Coordinators

The first meeting of the 21 Commissions Coordinators was held on 26th October, 2021 at Derebail meeting hall at 6.15PM.  In the beginning Rev. Fr. Austin Peres, Vicar of Derebail Church commenced the meeting with prayer and explained the purpose of the meeting. In his welcome address he welcomed all the coordinators who were present in the meeting. After that he called the Vice President of PPP Mrs. Sheela D'souza, the Secretary Mr. Gaulbert Pais, the Coordinator Mr. Edward Coelho and Rev. Fr. Gerald Francis Pinto the Socius Priest of the Church on the daiz. 
He introduced them and said due to Covid-19,  2nd wave lockdown and related restrictions as per Government guidelines and no specific instructions from the Diocese the schedule of this meeting  was delayed.   After the meeting of Synod 2021, it was  realised to call the meeting and complete all initial formalities. 
Fr Austin briefed  regarding  21 commissions and their role of functioning in our Derebail church. He also explained the role of each coordinator and coordinator of  21 commissions, the role in Varado, Diocesan Commissions and finally  Bishop of Mangalore. The Coordinator of all the 21 Commissions of the Church  has been included in the Executive Committee of PPP thereby deleting the entry of the Assistant Priest. The new 21 Commissions are to live united with Christ and His teaching with  love and  forgiveness to continue the mission unitedly in the community following the basic values of the Christian Life. He explained the Diocesan Pastoral Aims and reforms to safeguard the continuity of the Church. He also explained the functions of 21 commissions in the Parish, Varado and Diocese with examples and reference of the Booklet provided by the Pastoral Institute of the Diocese. 
All 21 Commissions Role, goals and objectives were explained by the priest along with how to execute and the reporting procedures.  
He further explained that each commission coordinator has to function independently by adding further 10 members in the commission from the PPP and Parish by 7th November 2021. All Parish Members get included in one of the commissions. Executive Committee Members of PPP are automatically included in the membership by default in all the 21 commissions as per the constitution of the PPP Mangalore Diocese. And after forming all 21 commissions of a total of 210 members a 3 hour training will be arranged by or on 21st Novermber 2021.  
Finally, he gave the details of the Convenors  who are  in charge at Diocesan level.
Following are details of  the Coordinators selected for 21 commissions at Derebail Church. 
The forum was given from open house discussion and the Coordinators  present  participated in the discussions .
The Coordinator of all the 21 Commissions, Mr. Edward Coelho gave the vote of thanks. 
Fr. Austin Peres concluded the meeting by reciting Angelus and prayers and Blessed the Members.
Snacks and Coffee was arranged in the meeting. 
22 out of 25 members were present . Leave of absence was granted for 3 Members.
