Parapade Hills Ward: Honouring Our Teachers

The SCC meeting of Parapade Hills Ward was held on 13 September 2026 at 4.30 PM at the residence of Mr. Cyril and Mrs. Lizzie Lasrado. A total of 38 members were present, comprising 11 men, 21 women, and 6 children.

The meeting began with the 7 Steps Prayer, conducted by Mr. Donald Ignatius Fernandes.

During the prayer meet, the members also remembered Sister Maria Goretti Aranha, who was called to eternal rest on the 9th of the same month. She had served as a teacher and headmistress in several reputed schools. A minute of silence was observed in her memory.

Following the prayer meet, the Teachers' Day celebration commenced, hosted by Mrs. Lizzie Fernandes. Six teachers were present and were warmly welcomed with flowers and gifts. Mrs. Lavita D'Mello spoke about the importance and significance of Teachers' Day. Mrs. Rekha D'Souza and Mrs. Pramila Furtado shared their journey and experiences as teachers with those gathered.

Games were then conducted by Mrs. Reema Pinto, and prizes were distributed to the winners by the ward Gurkar, Mr. Denzil Fernandes.

The gathering concluded on a warm and cheerful note, with refreshments graciously served by the host family, bringing the celebration to a pleasant close.
