Most Holy Redeemer Church Observes All Saints Day and All Souls Day

The first two days of November hold a deep spiritual significance in the Catholic Church. The Church observes the solemnity of All Saints Day on November 1 and All Souls' Day on November 2. The Solemnity of All Saints celebrates all those who have attained holiness and now share in the glory of God. Whereas, the faithful reflect on the promise of eternal life and the enduring bond of love between the living and those who have left for their Heavenly Abode on All Souls' Day. The family members of the dearly departed offer prayers for the repose of their souls.

The parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, participated in the Eucharistic celebrations held on both days, coming together in faith, prayer and remembrance.

Following the 6 PM Eucharistic celebration on All Souls' Day, Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Associate Parish Priest along with Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest and Deacon Loywin led the congregation in prayers at the parish cemetry. The graves were blessed while the parishioners offered prayers for the eternal repose of the departed souls.

The parishioners gathered beside the graves of their loved ones, remembering them in prayer and entrusting them to God's loving mercy. Adorned with flowers and illuminated by the gentle glow of candles, the cemetry presented a moving sight, reflecting the enduring bonds of love, faith and remembrance that transcend death.
