Highway Ward Celebrates their Ward Day

The members of Highway Ward celebrated their Ward Day on 26 September 2026. The celebration began with a Eucharistic Celebration, followed by a fellowship gathering held at the Church basement premises.

The event was hosted by Ms. Deona Dsouza in the presence of Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Assistant Parish Priest; and Rev. Fr. Kevin Dsouza, Guest Priest. The gathering was also attended by Ms. Clotilda Dsouza, Secretary of the Pastoral Committee, and Ms. Pramila Furtado, Coordinator of Commissions.

The programme commenced with a prayer hymn, followed by the welcome address delivered by the ward Gurkar, Mr. Cyprian Dsouza.

As part of the programme, senior citizens of the ward, academic and sports achievers were felicitated in recognition of their contributions and accomplishments. The celebration also included entertaining dance and singing performances, followed by fun games that brought together children, youth, adults, and elders of the ward.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Benedicta Lobo. Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris gave the blessing over the food, after which everyone gathered for dinner.

The evening was filled with joy, fellowship, and togetherness. The participation of children, elders, and other ward members made the celebration a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone.
