Joy of giving: An Orphanage visit by Parapade Hills Ward members

On June 21, 2026, at 3 PM, the members of Parapade Hills Ward visited the Infant Mary Convent orphanage in Jeppu. The visit was part of the monthly service initiative introduced during the SCC meeting to offer emotional support, foster compassion, and promote the joy of giving. On arrival, the group was welcomed by Sr. Sylvia, the convent superior. The ward members presented essential food items to the orphanage.

In the evening, snacks were served before the ward members proceeded to the senior citizens' and women's block. The residents welcomed the ward members with a song, after which the visitors presented a cultural programme hosted by Mrs. Pramila Furtado. Baby Rihanna delighted the audience with a graceful dance performance, setting a vibrant tone for the cultural programme, followed by lively performances by Princia and Rishal that encouraged audience participation. Mr. Denzil Fernandes and Mr. Ronald Furtado presented musical performances, while Mr. Deon and Mrs. Chrisal Fernandes sang a duet. The members of the orphanage also entertained everyone with dance and singing, and the members of Parapade Hills Ward concluded with a group performance.

The programme was well appreciated, and the memorable moments were captured on camera. Mrs. Pramila Furtado delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the superior and staff for their warm hospitality. Additionally, a female representative from the orphanage sincerely expressed her thanks on behalf of the institution. A dance followed, after which the members visited the men's and sick blocks, spending time listening to their stories and challenges. After a visit of about two and half hours, the ward members returned home with cherished memories of a meaningful day of service and fellowship.
