CHRISTMAS MELODIES: CAROL SINGING AT PARAPADE UPPER WARD

With Christmas around the corner, the Parapade Upper Ward members organized Christmas Carol Singing on 15 December 2024, embodying the essence of the season. The enthusiastic ward members assembled at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Celine Victor Correa at 5:30 pm, dressed in red and black attire, and a Christmas cap. The event started with Mr. Victor Correa invoking God’s blessings through a short prayer. 
The zealous group comprising 28 members, made their way through the houses in their neighborhood singing carols in Konkani, Kannada and English, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ’s birth. A visualization of Jesus’ birth was presented through the live crib with Shaina Veigas and Riyanna Rodrigues portraying the characters of Mother Mary and St Joseph respectively, accompanied by Samaira, Samantha and Princia as Angels, Shavin, Jeethan and Reon as Shepherds. The sparkle of the ensemble was augmented by Mr. Stephen Dsouza who disguised himself as a Santa Claus, and went about dancing and distributing toffees to children and adults. 
The group went about joyously singing and dancing, among the neighborhood families including the non-Catholics friends. The caroling team was gladly received at every home, while some also served the team with juice, watermelon, and chocolates. 
The caroling round concluded around 7:45 pm at the residence of Mrs. Dora Dsilva. The thanksgiving prayer was offered by Mrs. Celine Correa, followed by which the group was offered with delicacies like kuswar, cake, orange, banana and juice. 
The carol singing event was remarkable in spreading harmony in the neighbourhood. It also enabled the sick, elderly and others to celebrate the joy of Christmas along with the caroling team.
