Christmas Harmony: Carol Singing at Parapade Hills Ward

On 9 December 2024, the Parapade Hills Ward hosted a Carol Singing event. The members of the ward gathered at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Pramila Ronald Furtado at 4:30 PM, dressed in formal attire featuring combinations of red and white or black.

The Carol Singing ensemble comprised 18 participants. The event began with a short prayer led by Mrs. Juliet Lasrado.

The spirit of Christmas was evident in the joyful expressions of all attendees, who eagerly awaited the arrival of Santa Claus. Mrs. Pramila Furtado took on the role of Santa Claus, traversing the neighborhood while singing Christmas carols and distributing chocolates to both children and adults. A varied repertoire of carols in Konkani, English, and Kannada was performed at each residence, starting with a Konkani and an English carol, followed by "Feliz Navidad."

The group made their way to every home in the ward, including those of non-Catholic families. Members of other faiths also participated in and observed the caroling. Families engaged in the festivities through singing and dancing, expressing their gratitude for the initiative. Numerous families generously provided refreshments, including Kuswar (Christmas treats), cake, juice, and ice cream, for the caroling team.

By 7:30 PM, the group had completed their rounds throughout the ward, concluding their visit at the residence of Mr. Monthu Pereira. They then returned to Mr. Ronald Furtado's home, where the caroling team was treated to snacks and ice candy.

This event offered a splendid opportunity for ward members to visit each household, especially those of the sick and elderly, to extend early Christmas greetings and offer prayers. The enthusiasm and energy displayed during the event will surely encourage the continuation of this beloved caroling tradition.
