The Basic Ecclesial community of Barebail Lower Ward, Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, organized a children's Zamath on Sunday, 19th July 2026 at the residence of Mr. Donald and Mrs Anitha Martis at 4:30PM.

For the first time, the children of Barebail Lower Ward organized and conducted the B.E.C Ward meeting along with the elders using the seven steps method of prayer. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis was the guest of honour.

Liyola Pinto, the MC of zamath hosted the meeting. Sherline Martis welcomed the guests, children and elders. The MC asked everyone to individually introduce themselves especially to children to mention what they are studying.

The gathering began with Samudhay Geeth- "Wadya Zamathik ami Hosoyya"
Krisha Martis led the Zamath using the seven steps method and Ashel D'Souza invited Lord Jesus to the Zamath. The Word of God was taken from the Gospel of John 6:51-59. Shahan Lobo and Sherline Martis proclaimed the reading.

Five children picked the Word of God and proclaimed it three times during the Zamath. After a moment of silence two children participated in the fifth step and chose the Jivithache Uthar "Jivo Undo" John 6:51. The participants repeated it three times. Prerak requested everyone to remember and live this Jivithache Uthar every day.

At the sixth step as social service - children decided to visit the Church Cemetery the next Sunday to clean it and pray for the souls of the Parishners who are burried there. The seven steps concluded with individual prayers, petitions and the Lord's prayer.

The gurkar Mrs. Mable Sequeira read the minutes of the last meeting and reviewed the services carried out after last meeting. She also updated about the recent developments of our Parish.

The members celebrating their birthdays and anniversaries in the month of July were also greeted by the ward members.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis addressed the gathering and congratulated the children, their parents, the Gurkar, the representatives for organizing the children's Zamath and encouraging the children. He also insisted on punctuality for Sunday mass and Catechism Classes. He also urged the ward members to join Church associations and help others and to avoid social media.
