Children Lead the Ward Meeting at Gollachil Ward

The ward meeting of Gollachil ward was held on May 10 th 2026 at 4.30 PM at the residence of Mr. Johnny & Mrs. Cynthia Fernandes. The meeting was conducted by the children of the ward.

Ms. Tianna sang an introductory song related to the various steps taken in a ward meeting. Ms Iona led the members into prayer. The meeting was led by Ms. Jenisha Menezes. Ms Melisha Sequeira  and the Gurkar Mr. Arun pinto jointly  extended a warm welcome to the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis ,  Brother Roston and the members of the ward. 

The word of God was taken from the Gospel of John , Chapter 14 vs 15 to 21, which was read by Ms Dale Menezes. The verse " God loves us " was chosen as the guiding message.

The Secretary Mrs Jacintha Mascarenhas presented the report of the previous meeting.Fr.Joseph in his message, suggested that children should come forward and conduct ward meetings once or twice in a year . He also  appreciated the way children conducted the meeting. Since the meeting was held close to Mother's day,  Fr. Joseph  wished all the mothers Happy Mother's day and requested the children to help their parents in in their daily chores.
Brother Roston  gave the gathering a brief introduction about himself  and was very happy to be a part of the children ward meeting. 

In the end Ms Tianna thanked Fr Joseph and Brother Roston, the children and the senior members of the ward for their active participation.

A few games were conducted by the Gurkar Arun Pinto and Sir Donald Saldanha.Prizes were distributed to the winners. The meeting concluded with a hymn.

The members sang a Konkani song Avai and wished all the mothers Happy Mother's day.
 
Snacks and cold drinks were distributed.
