Celebration of Monthi Fest and Harvest Festival at Kapikad Ward

On Sunday, 13th September 2026, the members of Kapikad Ward gathered for a ward meeting and Monthi Fest / Harvest Festival celebration with great enthusiasm and devotion at the residence of Mrs. Terry Pais at 5 PM. Present on the occasion were Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris and the families of Kapikad Ward.

Mrs. Terry Pais welcomed the august gathering and Mrs. Irene D’Cunha conducted the meeting as Prerak. Mr. Sylvester D’Cunha read the report of the previous meeting. Gurkar, Mrs. Juliana Coelho felicitated the members celebrating their birthdays in the month of September 2026. Thereafter, all the teachers present were felicitated as a mark of Teachers' Day. A beautiful game conducted by Mrs. Prathima Moras made all participants active and sportive.

After the ward meeting, the celebration of Monthi Fest / Harvest Festival began with an introductory speech by the Ward Gurkar who welcomed the guest with flowers. The programme then continued with Marian hymns and novena prayers. While singing the hymn ‘Sakkad Sangata Melyam’, the faithful honoured Balok Mori with flowers.

Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. Mr. Francis Saldanha proposed the vote of thanks. Rev. Fr. Peris concluded the celebration with a prayer, invoking blessings on the food and all members.

Then, the Gurkar mixed the blessed Novem with the roce and the ward members relished the same as one family. Fr. Peris inaugurated the meal. All enjoyed the delicious food together, prepared by the Ward Family. The event was a grand success and enjoyed by all.
