Variety Entertainment Competition Back

The Inter ward variety entertainment competition was held on the 25^th August 2013 in the Parish Main Hall in continuation of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, l. Eleven wards from the parish participated in the event which was organized by Yuva Spandan. Mr. Prajwal Sequeira, the President accorded the welcome note. The Parish Priest along with the Asst. Parish Priest, The President of the Parish Pastoral Council, the Secretary and the Animators of Yuva Spandan, Mrs. Carmelita D’souza and Mrs. Lizzy Fernandes lit the lamp and inaugurated the event. The Parish Priest conveyed his message and good wishes for the programme.

This was followed by the variety entertainment programme put forward by each of the 11 wards where each team was given 13 minutes of time to present their performance. Each of the wards presented a programme that was entertaining and enjoyable and this contributed to a tough competition between the participating wards where ward outperformed the other. The programme was successful in showcasing the abundant talents among the parishioners of Derebail Church. The Parish Priest presented a token of appreciation to each of the wards that participated in the event. Post judging the event, the following wards emerged as winners:

• First: Parapade Lower Ward
• Second: Parapade Upper Ward
• Third: Derebail Ward
• Consolation: Kottara and Land Links Lower Wards

The Yuva Spandan members were lauded for their efforts in organizing such a wonderful and enjoyable event. Kevin Suares gave the vote of thanks while Ivy Melisha D’souza compeered the programme
