Derebail Parishioners Celebrate Independence Day and the Feast of Assumption
Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail celebrated Independence Day with hearts full of patriotism and offered special devotion to Mother Mary on the feast of Assumption on 15 August 2026. The Eucharistic Celebration at 7.30 AM was followed by a Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Church premises.
The Guest of honor was Rev Father Maxim Rosario – the estate manager of Mangalore Diocese. Parish priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Assistant parish priest Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris and Parish Council Secretary Mrs. Clotilda D’Souza were the dignitaries present.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Maxim Rosario urged everyone to be aware of one's responsibilities and collectively work for the betterment of the society.
The flag hoisting was assisted by Melrisha Quadros.
Welcome speech and vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs Bibiana Monthi Furtado.
The choir was led by church youth choir group.
