Nativity Celebration 2020

The Nativity Celebration at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail commenced at 7 AM with a solemn mass. Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares, Resident Priest concelebrated the mass with the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Austin Peres, Resident Priest Rev. Fr. Gerald Pinto and Rev. Fr. Walter Pinto. In his Homily, Fr. Gratian stressed the importance of family and called everyone to be thankful for the gift of family. He emphasized the need to show love and care towards mother nature for her bountiful harvest. He concluded asking everyone to look upon Mother Mary as an inspiration and live a life that pleases God.

The new crop was distributed among the parishioners at their respective seats. The Candle of honour was distributed to the donours.

The entire celebration was conducted according to the COVID protocol. In order to maintain social distance and for the benefit of parishioners two masses were held at 8.30 AM and 10 AM. Sugarcane was distributed after each mass.
