Most Holy Redeemer Church celebrated Bible Sunday-the Sunday of the Word of God-, with deep devotion and enthusiasm on Sunday, 25 January 2026. 

A solemn procession was organized in which children actively participated along with Parish Priest  Rev. Fr.Joseph Martis, Associate Parish Priest Rev.  Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Rev. Fr. Maxim Rosario, Br. Augustine and Vice President Mr. Denzil Fernandes. 
The children held the Bible in their hands, symbolizing the passing on of faith and Scripture to the younger generation. The Bible was then reverently placed on the altar and honoured with a beautiful garland, highlighting the central role of the Word of God in Christian life.

The main celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Fr. Maxim Rosario, who, in his homily, emphasized the importance of the Bible and encouraged the faithful to live according to its teachings. The homily focused on the value of the Word of God in daily life and spiritual growth.

On this occasion, Ms.Edlyn, who hand-wrote the four Gospels, and Mr. Edwin, who hand-wrote the entire New Testament, were honored.

As part of the celebration, a special session on the Word of God was conducted for students of classes 8, 9, and 10. This programme was led by Brother Augustine, and it greatly enriched the children’s understanding of the Bible and inspired them to grow closer to God’s Word.

Overall, the Bible Sunday celebration was a meaningful and faith-filled event that strengthened the parish community and encouraged both children and adults to love, read, and live the Word of God.
