Moment of Marian Prayer at Derebail Parish

At the request of the Holy Father, the Secretariat responsible for the Universal Synod had invited the Church around the world to hold a moment of Marian Prayer on May 31st the Memoria of the Visitation and the last day of the Marian Month of May to place the work of the Synod, especially the upcoming assembly in October, under the protection of Our Lady. Accordingly Derebail parish organised this prayer on 31st evening with a special Rosary in front of the Marian grotto. The Parish Priest, Fr Joseph Martis, introduced to the gathering the theme of the day and requested the participants to pray for the upcoming Synod. Then the five decades of the Rosary were recited by five different groups of the parish: Children, Youth, married couples, Sick and the old and finally priests and religious sisters. After the recitation of the litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Fr Kevin the associate priest prayed the special Marian prayer prepared for this day. Then the whole assembly moved to the church in procession and participated in the Holy Eucharist.
