Kavi Gosti Back

Kavi Gosti was organized on the 2^nd of October 2013 as part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. Konkani’s famous poet and the President of Kavitha Trust, Sahitya Academy Award Winner, who was born and grew up in Derebail Church, Mr. Melwin Rodrigues conducted the programme.

Writing poetry along with what is required was the main topic of this one hour workshop. Invitees from Derebail Parish along with other guests read their poetry on this occasion. Professor Stephen Quadros highlighted about Konkani in the praise of God.

On this occasion, Mr. Melwin Rodrigues was honored on behalf of the Parish and was given a memento. He recalled that being born in the Parish of Derebail and having inherited the gift of poetry from his grandfather was instrumental in him reaching great heights in his life today.
