Innocent Children Martyrs Feast at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail

The Feast of the Holy Innocents, also called Childermas or Innocents’ Day is a Christian feast in remembrance of the massacre of young children in Bethlehem by King Herod the Great in his attempt to kill the infant Jesus (Matthew 2:16–18).

On the occasion of the innocent children martyrs feast day, the children and infants of Derebail parish and others were blessed on 28th December, 2021. Within the Octave of Christmas, this day marks a special place in the history of the Catholic Church. 

The church was filled with children and the youth during both the 6.15 AM and 5.30 PM masses, that were offered specially for them.
