FEAST OF ST. JOACHIM AND ST. ANN

The Feast of St. Ann and St.Joachim was celebrated at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail on 26 July, 2022.  It was from St. Ann's and St.Joachim's marital embrace that the Spirit fashioned their fair daughter Mary to be sinless: the dawning of a new creation awakening from her Immaculate Conception.
The active participation of the lay faithful, the members of LASA ( Lay Associates of St.Ann ) and the religious sisters of St. Ann, Maria Bhavan convent Kuntikan, in the Eucharistic Liturgy brought down blessings from heaven.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis the Parish Priest along with Rev. Fr. Gerald Francis Pinto and Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares offered the mass. The choir group led by Mr. Alwyn D'Cunha added to the solemnity of the service.
Fr. Gratian Alvares beautifully explained the role of Sts. Ann and Joachim in his Homily, and brought  out the worth of having grandparents in one's life. During the Holy Mass  the religious sisters of Maria Bhavan convent -seven of them-renewed their religious Vows and the LASA members -9 of them -renewed their promises.The moments of fellowship enhanced when all 150 of the congregation met at breakfast table.
