Farewell to Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares, the Resident Priest
Derebail Parish with a heavy heart is bidding goodbye to one of its most loved Resident Priest Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares. Having served the parish for a considerable period of time Fr. Gratian has won hearts among parishioners of all age groups. His love for children, concern for the elders and enthusiasm with the youth will be missed.
A felicitation ceremony to honour Fr. Gratian was held after the 7 AM mass on the 13th of September. Mrs Sheela D'Souza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council read out the Letter of Honour (maan patr) which highlighted his services and achievements in the parish. This was followed by a felicitation.
Rev. Fr. Austin Peres spoke a few words in appreciation of Fr. Gratian. Fr. Gratian responded to this entire felicitation ceremony with humble words of gratitude and love towards the parish and its parishioners.
