'EDUCATION FOR LIFE'- Special lecture by Dr. Jerome Pinto

A special lecture titled 'Education for Life' was held for the youth of the parish  on 16.02.2020. Dr. Jerome Pinto was invited as the Resource Person for the same.  The Catholic Sabha Mangalore unit Derebail had taken the initiative of organizing this seminar for the youth in order to help them understand life and it's nuances better at this changing phase of their life.

Students from classes 8 to PUC  were present for the lecture. Catechism teachers,a few parents and other youth of the parish were also present for the same. This event was held at Derebail Parish  Residence Hall from 8.am to 10.30 am.  

The President of the Catholic Sabha Derebail- Mrs. Juliet D Silva, The Parish Priest- Rev. Fr. Austin Peres, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Parishad- Mrs. Sheela D Souza, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Parishad- Mr. Gaulbert Pais,  Catholic Sabha City Varado President-Mr.Victor Correa and Dr. Jerome Pinto, were on the Dias. Mrs. Juliet DSilva  welcomed and introduced the Resource Person Dr. Jerome Pinto, and  Gaulbert Pais gave a floral welcome.  Dr. Jerome Pinto then addressed the youth. The youth were enlightened on the details  of the anatomy of human body and were taught to understand the differences between the male and the female body, and how the organs grow and their role in procreation to continue the work of  God. He gave an insight into the psychology of the teen mind and helped them in comprehending the differences between true love and infatuation. In short Dr. Jerome Pinto was successful in helping the youth understand their own body, it's weakness' and strengths' and on how one should treat it with respect. Mr. Edward Coelho, Co-ordinator of the Programme, concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.

A special Eucharistic celebration followed. It was led by  Rev. Fr. Austin Peres at 10.30 am.  Refreshments were served . A total of 150 people were present for this event.
