DPSC Interward Underarm Cricket Tournament Back

Derebail Parish Sports Club (DPSC), the sports association of Derebail, organized Interward clusterwise underarm cricket tournament on April 24th, 2016. Total of 7 teams of 8 clusters registered for the tournament.

The tournament started off with a small inaugural program. The chief guests were the Parochial Administrator Rev. Fr Vincent Menezes, Vice President and former member of DPSC Mr. Anil Patrao and senior member of DPSC Mr. Edward Sequeira. President Sandesh Mascarenhas and Vice president Mrs. Lydia D'Costa of DPSC also shared the dias. Mr. Sheldon Crasta proceeded the inauguration. The inauguration was started by a short message by Fr. Vincent and then followed by a prayer. Then the guests proceeded to d grounds and inaugurated with a play of cricket.

The first match was then started off between Parapade Upper ward and Landlinks Ward. Parapade Upper won the first match. The game followed on till the evening. A special game for only the ladies present in the grounds were held. A total of 22 ladies enrolled for this game, for which they were split into two teams and played a game. Once again Bejai cluster and Akashbhavan cluster proceeded to the finals in which Bejai cluster won the finals.

Rev. Fr Anil Lobo, the Asst. Parish Priest handed over the trophies and prizes to the winners and runner ups.
