Derebail Parish Observes All Saints Day and All Souls Day Back
Derebail Parish Observes All Saints Day and All Souls Day
The first two days of November hold special significance in the life of the Catholic Church. These two days are observed as All Saints Day and All Souls Day. The faithful on these days reflect on the mystery of eternal life and the unbroken bond between the living and the departed.
On November 1, the Solemnity of All Saints, the Church honors all who have lived lives of holiness and now share in the glory of God. The following day, November 2, is dedicated to remembering and praying for the souls of the faithful departed.
The parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church participated in the Eucharistic celebrations held on both days. After the 5 PM Mass on All Saints Day, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest, together with Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, the Associate Parish Priest, led the congregation in prayers at the cemetery. They blessed the graves and offered prayers for the repose of the departed souls.
Parishioners stood beside the graves of their loved ones, joining in prayer. The cemetery, beautifully adorned with flowers and glowing candles, symbolized the enduring love and remembrance families hold for those who have passed away.
