Mission Sunday is a day where Catholics uphold one of the most important virtues of the church which is the call “to give.” Embracing this year’s theme “Missionaries of Hope Among the Peoples”, the parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church, worked together to organize Mission Sunday on 18th and 19th October 2025.

The Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, in association with the Family Commission and the Secular Franciscan Order, organized Elders’ Day on 28th September 2025 to honour parishioners aged 75 and above. A total of 92 elders participated, with the overall gathering of 170.

Celebration of Nativity of Mother Mary at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail

The feast of Nativity of Mother Mary was celebrated with devotion and grandeur at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail. In preparation for this feast the parishioners- young, old, especially little children- participated in the nine-days novena, offering flowers to Mother Mary with love and reverence.

Derebail Church organised an informative programme titled “Civil Services and the possibilities available for Our Children” for students from Grade 7 to II PUC. The objective was to create awareness about the opportunities available in the Indian civil services and to encourage young minds to consider it as a viable and noble career path.

Bible Classes at Derebail Parish

Bible classes commenced at Derebail Parish on Tuesday, 10th June at 6:00 p.m. The inauguration was marked by a simple yet meaningful ceremony in the presence of Professor Antony Pinto the resource person, Fr Nelson (the Associate Parish Priest), Mrs Sheela (Vice President), Mr Anil Patrao (Coordinator of the 21 Pastoral Commissions), Mrs Helen (Animator of the Bible Commission), the Parish Priest Fr Joseph Martis, and several enthusiastic participants.
