DEANERY-LEVEL BIBLE QUIZ

The Youth Christian Life Community, Commission For Bible and Catechetics and Youth Commission jointly organized the Deanery - Level Bible Quiz "LUX CHRISTOS" on 26th October 2025 at The Most Holy Redeemer Church, Jubilee Hall Derebail. The main objective of the event was to encourage parishioners to deepen their understanding of the Holy Scriptures and to strengthen their faith through active participation.

The event commenced with the MC, Ms. Jovita Rodrigues, and an opening prayer led by the YCLC members, followed by a welcome address by the Youth CLC President, Mr. Rovin D’Souza. A warm welcome was extended to Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest, Fr. Roopesh Tauro, Chief Guest and Quiz Master, Mr. Denzil Pinto, PPC Secretary and YCLC Animator, and Mr. Shaun Colaco, Bible Quiz Coordinator. 

In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis expressed his deep appreciation to the Youth Christian Life Community (YCLC), the Commission for Bible and Catechetics, and the Youth Commission for their wonderful initiative in organizing the Deanery-Level Bible Quiz "LUX CHRISTOS." He highlighted that the Bible is not merely a book of words but a living message that guides, inspires, and transforms hearts. He encouraged everyone to read and reflect on the Scriptures regularly, allowing the light of Christ to shine through their thoughts, actions, and relationships. He also noted that the quiz served as a platform to bring together parish communities from across the deanery, fostering unity, fellowship, and a shared commitment to Christian values. Appreciating the enthusiasm of the participants and organizers.

A total of 10 parishes participated in the competition, each team displaying great enthusiasm and impressive knowledge of the Bible. The quiz consisted of 15 rounds, making it an engaging and intellectually stimulating contest.

After a closely contested competition, The Guardian Angel Church, Angelore emerged as the winners, followed by St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga securing second place, and St. Teresa of Kolkata Church, Paldane taking the third place. The winners and all participants awarded cash prize and offered rosaries in recognition of their excellent performance. The participants shared their experience meticulously and successfully of Bible quiz. 

The event was efficiently Coordinated by Mr. Shaun Colaco and Mr. Rolan Rodrigues. Gratitude is also expressed to all the volunteers for their dedicated assistance and to the sponsors for their generous contributions. 

 Adding to this Mr. Denzil Pinto, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council and Animator of the Youth CLC, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Youth CLC members and the enthusiastic participation of all deanery teams. He commended their teamwork, commitment, and spirit in spreading the Word of God through this meaningful event.

Overall, the Deanery-Level Bible Quiz was a grand success, achieving its purpose of promoting biblical learning, encouraging fellowship, and fostering unity among the Faithful people of the Deanery.
