Confraternity Sunday Celebration at Derebail Parish 

Derebail Parish observed Confraternity Sunday on 2 November 2025 with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 4:30 p.m. The Mass was led by the main celebrant, Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, along with Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest, and Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Associate Parish Priest, as concelebrants.

The homily focused on three key themes- surrendering to God’s will, recognizing that the true essence of the Eucharist extends beyond church walls, inspiring faithful service to others, as Christ is present both in the Eucharist and in our neighbors and, living faith through action, as faith without good deeds lacks true value. Concluding his message, the celebrant urged the faithful to practice forgiveness and to treat one another with kindness.

Following the Mass, a solemn Eucharistic procession began at the church entrance, proceeded towards Konchady Katte, and then returned to the church. Parishioners, dressed in white and off-white, participated reverently with candles and hymns, symbolizing unity and devotion. The evening concluded with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, accompanied by melodious hymns rendered by the church youth choir.

In his closing remarks, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis expressed gratitude to Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, the parishioners, parish associations, and the youth of Derebail for their active and enthusiastic participation. The Kannada commentary during the procession was provided by Ms. Felcy Lobo.

The Parish Council also recognized the outstanding achievements of the following parishioners in their respective fields: Mr. Reuben Jason Machado, Mrs. Felcy Zeena Fernandes,Ms. Dashiel Amanda Concessao, Mr. Rishon Aarol Mascarenhas and 
Mrs. Merlyn Mascarenhas.
