Celebration of Faith: Catechism Day at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail 2026
On the joyous occasion of Catechism Day the children of Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail came together for a Thanksgiving mass at 9 am on Sunday, 22 February 2026. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Peter Mascarenhas. In his homily, Fr. Peter explained the three temptations of Jesus from the Bible—bread, power, and pride. He reminded one to trust God, stay humble, and avoid selfish desires. Through prayer and faith, one can overcome temptations and live a good and holy life.
The entire Catechism Day liturgy was beautifully led by the children. They also took part in the offertory procession, symbolically offering their gifts and thanksgiving, making the celebration more meaningful and prayerful for everyone present.
The Catechism Day celebration then continued at 5pm at the Golden Jubilee Hall. The programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Rohit DCosta, Director of Mangala Jyoti, as the chief guest.
