Celebration of Assumption of Mother Mary and Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail

On the auspicious day of Mother Mary's Assumption, Catholics gather together to celebrate the Holy Eucharist. This day is also special because Indians celebrate Independence Day.  

The mass at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail began at 7.30 AM. After mass a few parishioners and office bearers of the Parish Pastoral Council along with Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Austin Peres and Resident Priest Rev.Fr. Gerald gathered for a small Flag Hoisting Ceremony.
The YSD-ICYM President Mr.Manish Pinto welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres hoisted the national flag. The gathering honoured the flag by saluting and then sang the National Anthem. 
Fr. Gerald elaborated on the significance of the day. In his speech, he laid special emphasis on the contribution of the youth towards our country India . Mr. Kevin Suares in the Vote of Thanks,  expressed his gratitude to all those who had played an important role in the day's programme. The programme was compered by Mr.Victor Correa. 
Sweets were then distributed.
