Yuva Spandan Derebail Oath Taking Ceremony 2025-2026

The YSD-ICYM Oath taking ceremony took place on 22st June, 2025 during the 9am Mass. The Parish Priest  Rev. Fr. Joseph  Martis celebrated the mass.This was followed by a formal inaugural programme in the Parish  Meeting Hall. The programme commenced at 10.30am. The Parish Priest and Director of YSD Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Assistant Director Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris,  Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mrs. Sheela Dsouza, Secretary Mr. Denzil Pinto, Coordinator of 21 Commissions Mr. Anil Patrao, Animator Mrs. Lizzie Fernandes and the newly appointed Animator Mrs. Tina Menezes, City Deanery President Mr. Christon Menezes and Brother Augustine graced the occasion as dignitaries for the programme.

Ms. Liyanna Pinto and team led a short prayer service. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis inaugurated the programme by showcasing a video of the newly elected office bearers. The President Mr. Royson Fernandes welcomed the gathering. The annual report of the year 2024-2025 was read by the Secretary, Ms. Evangel Menezes, followed by the annual financial report by the Treasurer, Mr. Brian Mendonca. 

The 6 Newly joined YSD members were called forward by the Director to pledge their alliance. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis spoke a few words encouraging the youth to involve and actively take part in the church activities. Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris congratulated the new office bearers and spoke about teamwork and commitment that the youngsters must exhibit.

Mrs. Lizzie Fernandes, Animator, a strong pillar of support and dedication to YSD for the past 14 years, was honoured with a heartfelt farewell ceremony. Dignitaries and unit members expressed their deep appreciation for her unwavering commitment and impactful service.
Mr. Christon Menezes, the President of City Deanery welcomed the new Animator, Mrs. Tina Menezes.

 A small token of appreciation given to the office bearers of 2024-2025 for their dedicated service, followed by a post-handover ceremony where the respective posts were handed over by the preceding office bearers to the newly elected committee. 
The vote of thanks was proposed by the Secretary, Ms. Evangel Menezes. 25 YSD members were present and the event concluded by singing the ICYM anthem. Mr. Lester Lobo was the Emcee.
