Welcoming the Season of Joy: Christmas Celebration by the Women's Association

The Women's Association, Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail, celebrated Christmas on Saturday, 6th Decemeber 2025 at 6:00 PM, during their monthly meeting. The celebration began with a short prayer service. Mrs Dora Dcunha, President of Women's Association, welcomed the members and the dignitaries who had graced the occasion. Mrs. Juliana Coelho, Secretary, read the Minutes of the previous meeting, while Mrs. Celine Correa presented the accounts.

The members who celebrate their birthday in the month of December were requested to come forward and the others present heartily greeted them by singing the birthday song.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest and Spiritual Director addressed the gathered and shared his Christmas messge to all present at the occasion. Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Associate Parish Priest, blessed the members and kuswar that was prepared by the members of the association. The festive mood was enhanced with the members singing Christmas Carols and the grand entry of Mrs. Lydia Dcosta as Santa Claus who distributed sweets and spread joy.

Mrs. Dora Dcunha, then conducted a Housie-Housie game. Mrs. Juliana Coelho rendered the Vote of thanks.

The Christmas theme backdrop, decorations and the Christmas tree set-up by Mrs. Lydia Dcosta, Mrs Felcy Fernandes and Mrs. Juliana Coelho uplifted the celebration. Around 17 Christmas delicacies-Kuswar- prepared by the members, was relished by the gathering.

Truly, the onset of the festive season with the celebration of Christmas by the members of Women's Association elevated everyone's hearts to extend a warm welcome to Jesus, this Christmas.
