Season of Joy: Christmas Celebration by Senior Citizens Club

The Senior Citizens Club of the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, got together for Christmas Celebrations 2025 with great fervor on 15 December2025. The event began with a Thanksgiving Mass, concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Associate Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Kevin L. D'Souza, former Associate Parish Priest and current Director of Kripa Sadhana, Bajpe.

In his homily, Fr. Kevin emphasized the importance of leading a happy, stress-free life with a positive frame of mind, and being active in spreading happiness and positivity.

The celebrations continued in the Church Basement Hall, with a stage programme that included a prayer, group Christmas carol singing, and a group dance by the members. SCC President welcomed the invited guests and the Executive Committe Members honored them with roses. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis lit the decorative Christmas tree and addressed the gathering, sharing a humorous message on leading a tense-free life.

The entertainment segment featured short skits and Christmas-themed songs, showcasing the talents of the senior members. The event also included the recognition of members who celebrated birthdays and wedding anniversaries, as well as donors and winners of lucky dip and online quiz contests.

A stupendous Christmas lunch buffet was served, followed by a vote of thanks by the SCC Secretary. The event concluded with a lively Baila Dance, marking a joyous celebration of the Spirit of Christmas.

The event was well-coordinated and emceed by Sheldon Crasta, and fostered a sense of festivity, unity, and joy among the senior members of the community.
